Alexa App Download
To start with the Echo Dot Setup you will first need to download the Alexa App. This is mandatory for the Echo Dot Setup. You can download the Alexa App on your tablet or smartphone that runs on the iOs 9.0 or higher and the Android 5.0 or higher. You can also Download Alexa App on Fire
OS 3.0 or higher.
Just go to the app store on your device and look for the Alexa App. If you are downloading the Alexa App on your PC. You will have to be sure that you’re connected to the Wi-Fi network. Visit the Amazon Alexa website, Alexa.Amazon.Com and download it for your PC.
Plug in your Echo Dot
This is definitely the easiest step in the Echo Dot Setup process. Note that your Echo Dot device doesn’t need batteries to run. All you have to do is plug in the power adapter directly into your Echo Dot device. Make sure it is hooked to a power outlet.
You will notice that a light ring shines blue. This indicates that power has been connected. Next, the light ring will turn orange. This indicates that Alexa is ready to greet you. Soon after this, Alexa will tell you that your device is ready for setup.
Connect Echo Dot to WiFi via the Alexa App

So you can change your wake word to something else! Tell your Echo device, “Alexa, change the wake word,” to change it. Alternatively, you could change your device’s wake word manually. Open the Alexa app and tap ‘Help and Feedback’ then select ‘Change the Wake Word.’ Note that you can only use these wake words – Echo, Amazon, and Computer.
